OUR WORK
Empowering independence through golf
Our mission is to bring people together using golf as the tool to foster a connection.
We achieve our mission through the following aims:
Providing opportunities
We aim to provide inclusive and accessible recreational golf opportunities for everyone. We break down the barriers so everyone can experience the benefits of golf. Our main focus is introducing (or reintroducing) golf to individuals with a variety of disabilities.
Improving physical and mental health
Golf has many benefits: physical, mental and social. Golf improves physical health components like balance, flexibility, and coordination. Whilst also being very social, make you feel part of a community and based outdoors boosting mood, reducing stress and loneliness.
Educating coaches and volunteers
A key part of our mission is educating and empowering sports coaches and volunteers to deliver effective and inclusive golf programmes for individuals with disabilities. We offer specific workshops designed to meet the unique needs of your organisation. If you’re interested in learning more or scheduling a workshop, get in touch with us today.
Golf for Everyone: Bringing People Closer
Our programmes bring people with shared experiences together. Through our inclusive golf sessions, we create a welcoming environment where individuals, their families, friends, and carers can enjoy the game together. We provide a unique opportunity for people to bond over a shared experience, fostering friendships and growing support networks.
Our programmes
We pride ourselves on being able to deliver sessions to a variety of disabilities and long-term health conditions. Our specialism is adapting the golf activity to suit the needs of the community. Our sessions are accessible to everyone, welcoming all races, genders or abilities. The equipment we use is adaptive to the environment and the users so it can be delivered indoors or outside.
We do have specific programmes that focus on distinct areas. Find more details below:
Autism
Our structured Game On programme is evidence-based. A focus each week on a golf skill and a social communication objective.
Older People
Our community sessions are weekly at a golf venue for individuals with dementia and their carers. Our programme has been delivered in care homes, sheltered housing and local religious venues.
Paragolfer
Paragolfer is a specialist all-terrain vehicles that offers the life-changign experience to stand up whilst playing golf.
